TIME FLIES MALT SHOP now occupies the 1970’s addition to the 1930’s filling station at the corner of Third and Green, Clinton, MO.

The malt shop came about as something of an after-thought to the filling station restoration.  (Maybe because when oil memorabilia shopping, I often seemed to drag home some wonderful Coca-Cola something or other for the station, of course!)

It has been a delight, mostly, to watch this back room evolve into a really fun little spot for all ages to come and enjoy being “LOST IN THE 50’S”.

The double doors from the malt shop leads you into the bays of the old filling station, now a D-X museum.  There you’ll usually find a 1947 Nash tow truck, currently unrestored but Martha thinks adorable, and a 1956 Buick Special very similar to our first car.  It, too, is unrestored.  When we got it in 2004 (11,000 documented actual miles), we planned to paint the bottom red like our “Josie” and re-do the interior, but we just couldn’t mess with such an unbelievably original car.  Someday, we’ll post that story.
